Call Flow
Assuming the following call flow.
BÂ calls C, C wants to transfer the call straight to voicemail of D.
A new alias with disabled authorization should be added to D, e.g., 13055551212.
Steps
(1) - Add alias to account (2) - Create Abbreviated Dialing (3) - Create Call Processing ruleÂ
Add Alias to Account
- Click on the account (DID).
- Click on the Aliases tab
- Add alias.
Create Abbreviated Dialing
- Click on the customer account (customer name).
- Click on the Abbreviated Dialing tab.
- Enter the Abbreviated Dialing Length (3 or 4) and click Save.
- Once you see the table to add abbreviated numbers, click Add at the top.
- Enter the 3 or 4 digit abbriviated number. Keep the last 2 or 3 numbers the same as the extension to keep it simple. e.g. 401 will be used for extension 101.
- In the "# to Dial" enter the alias that was added.
- In the description field, enter a description. e.g. 101-to-VM.
- Click Save at the top.
Create Call Processing Rule
- Click on the account (DID).
- Go to Service Features --> Voice Calls --> Incoming Calls.
- Check or enable "Call Processing Enabled" and click save.
- The Call Processing tab should now be available.
- Click on Call Processing.
- Click the "To" word or link.
- Click Add.
- Create a name for the rule. e.g. To-VM. Click Save.
- Click on the new rule created (To-VM) and enter in the alias.
- Click Close twice, until the system is back to the Abbreviated tab.
- Click "Add" and in the "To" dropdown, select the rule created "To-VM"
- In the action dropdown, select "Voicemail only"
- Click Save or Save & Close.
To test, try dialing the abbriviated number, 401, which should send the call to 101's voicemail box directly without any rings.
