Java Security Settings - Application Blocked

Version:  Java 7 Update 51

Java Blocks Self-Signed Application

After Java update 51 to version 7, users are now able to add exceptions to Java security settings. When using the UM section of the web interface users will experience the following alert.

To add the exception, please open Java. This can be done by searching for Java in the search field on the start menu. Once the Java Control Panel is open, select the Security Tab and click "Edit Site List...".

A new window called Exception Site List will appear. Click on "Add".

The window will now allow for the entry of a "Location" or address.

In the Location field add https://mybilling.sipresource.com:8543 and click "Add" then "OK".

The exception will now appear on the Exception Site List. Click "OK".

Reocurring Security Warning

When accessing the UM section of the web interface, a security warning will continue to alert the user. Notice that the location being presented to the user is the same as the address entered in the exception list. Check the box for "I accept the risk and want to run this application" and click "Run".
